The approach to the archeological site The House of the Magician A long climb
A view of the site from the Governor's Palace A buried mask of the rain god Chaac. Uxmal, which really should be written Oxmal, means three times built. This mask is an example of how each city was built over the one previous abandoned. A longer climb
The view from the top with our boys Climbing to a previously undiscovered (by us) section of the site--the Cemetery Group A temple in the cemetery group
The reason why it is called the Cemetery Group. Notice the skull carving. An interesting find. Our kids were peeking through. The temple in the sun. It was hot that day, over 100 degrees.
The House of the Magician from the back. Not a cloud in the sky.
